Photo & signature — do’s and don’ts
Do this
- Use a recent, clear photo with a plain background
- Target about 50 KB — the middle of the 10-100 KB band
- Sign in running handwriting with a dark pen on plain white paper, cropped tight
- Use the same signature you will sign with in the exam hall
- Compress a heavy PDF to a target inside the 20-200 KB band
Avoid this
- Do not upload the phone photo as it is — it is usually several MB
- Do not over-shrink below 10 KB — undersize files are rejected too
- No block-capital signatures
- Do not re-scan certificates at unreadable quality just to fit the size
Taiyaari checklist — keep these ready
- One Time Registration (OTR) completed on apply.upessc.org — the form does not open before it
- Photo ready: JPG/JPEG, 10-100 KB (target 50 KB)
- Signature ready: JPG/JPEG, 10-100 KB, on white paper
- Certificate PDFs ready, each 20-200 KB: marksheets, B.Ed degree, TET certificate
- One last size check before you submit: photo 10-100 KB, signature 10-100 KB, every PDF 20-200 KB
Documents you will need
- Graduation / postgraduate marksheets — PDF, 20-200 KB each
- B.Ed degree or certificate — PDF, 20-200 KB

Compress image to a sizeCertificates PDF — set target 100 KB
Compress each certificate PDF with the target set to 100 KB — safely inside the 20-200 KB band.
Compress PDF to a sizeEvery tool runs inside your browser — nothing is uploaded and no sign-up is needed.
Common mistakes that get forms rejected
- A file outside its band — photo or signature over 100 KB, a certificate PDF over 200 KB
- A blurry, over-compressed face — it creates problems later at verification
- A form signature that differs from your exam-day signature — the two are matched later
