UP TGT form: photo and signature size — JPG 10-100 KB (Advt 07/2026, 17,735 posts)
The UP Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) is hiring 17,735 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) for aided secondary schools — Advertisement 07/2026, applications from 24 October to 23 November 2026, correction window till 26 November, and the written exam on 23-24 December 2026. Applying is a two-step process: first a One Time Registration (OTR) on apply.upessc.org, then the application form itself. The step that stalls people is the uploads. UPESSC's band is generous — photo and signature both between 10 KB and 100 KB — but a file outside the band, or in the wrong format, still gets refused, and most phone photos are several MB.
The photo — JPG, 10 to 100 KB
Upload a recent, clear photograph as a JPG or JPEG file between 10 KB and 100 KB. A photo straight from your phone camera will almost always be too big, so compress it to a target of about 50 KB — the middle of the band. Do not over-shrink it either: a file that drops below 10 KB is rejected just as firmly as one over 100 KB, and a blurry, over-compressed face creates problems later at verification. Keep the face clear and the background plain.
The signature — JPG, 10 to 100 KB, on white paper
Sign the way you normally sign — running handwriting, not block capital letters — with a dark pen on plain white paper, then scan or photograph just the signature, cropped tight. The file must be JPG or JPEG, between 10 KB and 100 KB. If the scan is too heavy, compress it to the same 50 KB target. The signature on your form is matched later against your exam-day signature, so use the same signature you will sign with in the exam hall.
Documents and the last check
Certificates upload as PDF files, each between 20 KB and 200 KB — marksheets, your B.Ed degree and your TET certificate. If a scan runs bigger, compress the PDF to a target inside the band rather than re-scanning at unreadable quality. Eligibility in one line: a bachelor's degree in the subject with 50% marks (or a master's with 45%), B.Ed, and the upper-primary (Class 6-8) TET or CTET; age 21 to 62 years as on 1 July 2026, with relaxations as per the rules. Before you submit, read the file sizes back one last time — photo 10-100 KB, signature 10-100 KB, every PDF 20-200 KB. Everything above is free to prepare in your browser; the files never leave your device.
