- Pay: Level-7, ₹25,500–81,100 under ORSP Rules 2017.
- Two deadlines apply: registration/re-registration closes on 29 November 2026, and the filled form must be finally submitted by 5 December 2026.

- SC, ST and PwD candidates are exempt from the fee.
- The fee is refunded to candidates who actually appear in the written test.
Photo & signature — what the form asks
- The advertisement does not print a fixed KB size for the photo and signature — upload them in the format and size the portal asks for on the upload screen.
- Keep a recent colour photograph and a clear signature scan (signed on white paper) ready before you start.
- Upload only clear, readable scans; a blurred photo or signature can get the form rejected.
Photo & signature — do’s and don’ts
Do this
- Register or re-register on osssc.gov.in by 29 November 2026 — the final submission date of 5 December does not extend registration.
- Check your Ophthalmic Officers' Council, Odisha registration is valid before applying.
- Apply only if your qualification is the COA/COSA course — optometry degrees/diplomas are not the prescribed qualification here.
- Complete the final submission by 5 December 2026 and save the submitted copy.
- Appear in the written test to become eligible for the fee refund.
Avoid this
- Do not confuse the two dates — registration ends 29 November, final submission 5 December.
- Do not apply with a B.Sc/Diploma in Optometry assuming it is equivalent; the detailed advt prescribes COA/COSA.
- Do not let an expired council registration spoil the application.
- Do not apply on any site other than osssc.gov.in.
- Do not skip the exam if you paid the fee — the refund is only for those who appear.
