Eligibility & fees

  • 501 vacancies (495 General + 6 Special recruitment): Review Officer 131 and RO (Account) 31, Assistant Review Officer 329 and ARO (Account) 6, plus Manager, Care-Taker, Receptionist (Swagati) and Store Keeper (1 each, in UPPSC).
  • RO/ARO (Secretariat, Board of Revenue, Advocate General offices): Bachelor's degree, an 'O' Level certificate (DOEACC/NIELIT) or equivalent, and Hindi typing of at least 25 wpm — English typing is preferred. UPPSC-office RO/ARO posts also accept a Computer Science diploma in place of 'O' Level; accountant posts need B.Com with Accountancy and 'O' Level in Computer Application.
  • One Time Registration (OTR) on otr.pariksha.nic.in is compulsory, and it must be at least 72 hours old before you start the application.
  • Age: 21–40 years as on 1 July 2026 (born 2 July 1986 to 1 July 2005), with the relaxations printed in the notice. Date of birth is accepted only as recorded in the High School certificate.
  • Selection: Prelims (General Studies 140 + General Hindi 60 = 200 questions, 200 marks, 3 hours, negative marking of one-third) and then the Mains (four written papers of 200 marks each). There is no interview; merit is on the Mains alone. The minimum efficiency standard is 40% (35% for SC/ST of UP) in both stages.
  • Prelims fee (exam fee + ₹25 online processing fee): UR / EWS / OBC ₹125; SC / ST ₹65; PwD ₹25; Ex-servicemen ₹65. Dependents of Freedom Fighters, women and skilled players pay by their original category.
  • Candidates who qualify for the Mains pay a second, separate fee — UR/EWS/OBC ₹225, SC/ST of UP ₹105, PwD ₹25. Payment is through SBI MOPS.

Photo & signature — what the form asks

  • Photograph: there is no KB or dimension rule in the advertisement — your photograph is fetched from your OTR profile into the application.
  • Signature: also taken from the OTR profile. An application without a photograph or signature can be rejected outright, so complete those parts of the OTR profile before you apply, using clear scans.
  • If you change any personal detail on the OTR profile later, you must synchronise the change on the Candidate Dashboard — otherwise the old detail stands in the application.

Photo & signature — do’s and don’ts

Do this

  • Register on OTR (otr.pariksha.nic.in) at least 72 hours before you start the application — no OTR number, no application
  • Upload a clear photo and signature on the OTR profile before applying
  • Use the modification window by 3 December 2026 if a qualification field is wrong — it opens only once
  • Note the exact post codes before applying — Secretariat, Board of Revenue and UPPSC posts have slightly different extra requirements

Avoid this

  • Do not start the form before the OTR number is 72 hours old
  • Do not apply if you are only in the final year — appearing candidates are not eligible
  • Do not claim more than one age relaxation — only one is given, whichever helps you more
  • Do not change an OTR detail and assume the application updated itself — synchronise it on the Candidate Dashboard

Taiyaari checklist — keep these ready

  • OTR number ready — registered at least 72 hours earlier
  • Photo and signature uploaded on the OTR profile
  • Bachelor's degree certificate and marksheets ready
  • 'O' Level (DOEACC/NIELIT) certificate — or the accepted Computer Science diploma
  • High School certificate — the date of birth is taken from it

Documents you will need

  • Photo and signature — as uploaded on the OTR profile
  • Bachelor's degree certificate and marksheets
  • 'O' Level certificate / CS diploma
  • High School certificate (for date of birth)
  • Category / EWS certificate, as claimed

Common mistakes that get forms rejected

  • Starting the application without an OTR number that is 72 hours old — the form cannot be completed
  • An OTR profile with no photo or signature — the application can be rejected outright
  • Claiming the wrong post office (Secretariat vs Board of Revenue vs UPPSC) — their extra requirements differ slightly
  • Editing the OTR profile and never synchronising the change on the Candidate Dashboard

How to apply — step by step

  1. Register on OTR at otr.pariksha.nic.in (at least 72 hours before applying) and upload your photo and signature there
  2. Open the RO/ARO (Advt A-4/E-1/2026) application on uppsc.up.nic.in and enter your OTR number
  3. Fill in the qualification details and choose your posts carefully
  4. Pay the prelims fee through SBI MOPS by 26 November 2026
  5. Submit by 26 November 2026 and save the application copy
  6. If needed, use the correction / fee reconciliation window by 3 December 2026

Questions

What is the last date to apply for UPPSC RO/ARO Exam 2026?
The online form closes on 26 November 2026. The fee can be paid till 26 November 2026.
What size should the photo and signature be?
Photograph: there is no KB or dimension rule in the advertisement — your photograph is fetched from your OTR profile into the application. Signature: also taken from the OTR profile. An application without a photograph or signature can be rejected outright, so complete those parts of the OTR profile before you apply, using clear scans.
Can I correct the form after submitting?
Yes. The correction window runs till 3 December 2026.
What is the OTR, and why the 72-hour rule?
The One Time Registration on otr.pariksha.nic.in gives you a permanent registration number for all UPPSC exams. The advertisement requires the OTR number to be obtained at least 72 hours before you start the application — without it, the application cannot be completed. Your photo and signature are also taken from the OTR profile.
Can I correct the application?
Yes — correction/modification and fee reconciliation are open till 3 December 2026. A qualification can be modified only once, through the Candidate Dashboard, and OTR personal-detail changes must be synchronised there.
What is the salary of an RO/ARO?
The advertisement prints only the overall range for all its posts together — from Pay Level-5 (₹29,200–64,700) up to Pay Level-8 (₹47,600–1,51,100). It does not print a separate RO-versus-ARO break-up.
Where is the form finally submitted?
Only on the official portal, uppsc.up.nic.in. Convert Files only helps you prepare — dates, sizes and free tools. No form is submitted on this website, and Convert Files is not a government website.
Is everything on this page free?
Yes. Every tool and guide on Convert Files is free, works inside your browser and uploads nothing — your files never leave your device.

All information here is taken from the official notification. The form is finally submitted only on the official portal (uppsc.up.nic.in) — Convert Files is a free help platform, not a government website. Everything here is free; no sign-up is needed.
