Eligibility & fees
- Age 15–24 years as on 3 November 2026, with category relaxations as per the notice.
- Education: 10th pass with at least 50% aggregate marks, plus ITI / National Trade Certificate in the notified trade from an NCVT/SCVT-recognised institute. Engineering graduates and diploma holders are NOT eligible for these slots.
- Slots by cluster: Mumbai 1,712, Bhusawal 500, Pune 271, Nagpur 221, Solapur 157.
- Selection is by a merit list — the simple average of your 10th percentage and ITI trade marks, prepared cluster/unit/trade-wise. There is no written exam. Ties are broken by age (older first), then by earlier 10th passing.
- Training period is 1 year with a stipend of ₹9,600 per month. No hostel facility is provided.
- ₹100 for General, OBC and EWS candidates.
- No fee for SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates.
- The fee is paid online and is not refunded.
Photo & signature — what the form asks
- Photograph: recent colour photo, 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm, JPG/JPEG at 100 DPI, 20–70 KB, taken within the last 3 months, clear front view — no cap or sunglasses.
- Signature: 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm, JPG/JPEG at 100 DPI, 20–30 KB.
- Upload only the candidate's own recent photo; an old or unclear photo can get the form rejected at document verification.
Photo & signature — do’s and don’ts
Do this
- Check your trade is notified in the cluster you choose — slots are trade and unit specific.
- Keep the photo strictly inside 20–70 KB and the signature inside 20–30 KB.
- Calculate your 10th percentage exactly as the notice says before filling the form.
- Pay the fee online before 2 December 2026 and save the receipt.
- Keep the ITI marksheet of every semester/year ready — the merit uses the full ITI marks.
Avoid this
- Do not apply if you hold an engineering degree or diploma — the notice bars them for these slots.
- Do not wear a cap or sunglasses in the photograph.
- Do not fill the form from an unofficial website — apply only on rrccr.com.
- Do not expect a correction window; the notice announces none.
- Do not treat the training as a promise of a railway job.

Common mistakes that get forms rejected
- Applying for a trade that is not notified in the chosen cluster or unit.
- Counting the 10th percentage wrongly — the merit list is built on the 10th + ITI average, so one wrong figure drops the rank.
- Uploading a photo older than 3 months or with a cap/sunglasses.
- Missing that engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible for Act Apprentice slots.
