Eligibility & fees

  • Posts: Assistant Grade-3 — 1,206; ASI (District Unit Cadre) — 279; Registrar Clerk — 50; ASI (General Branch) — 40; SI-A Stenographer — 34; Stenographer (Hindi) — 30; Data Entry Operator — 25; Steno-Typist — 23; Stenographer (Bilingual) — 13; Stenographer (English) — 3.
  • Qualification and age are post-wise — these are Graduate and Post-Graduate level Class-III posts, and the detailed advertisement's eligibility table on the portal is final. Check your post's row carefully before paying the fee.
  • Selection is through a single written examination on 10 January 2027 (10:00 AM–12:15 PM) at the five divisional headquarters. Admit cards are expected around 4 January 2027.
  • A correction window runs from 28 to 30 November 2026 for mistakes in the submitted form.
  • The application fee is charged online by category on the CGSSB portal while you apply.
  • Special rule of this board: the exam fee is refunded to Chhattisgarh local-resident candidates who actually appear in the written examination.

Photo & signature — what the form asks

  • The advertisement does not print a fixed KB size for the photo and signature — upload them in the format and size the portal asks for on the upload screen.
  • Keep a recent colour photograph and a clear signature scan (signed on white paper) ready before you start.
  • Upload only clear, readable scans; a blurred photo or signature can get the form rejected.

Photo & signature — do’s and don’ts

Do this

  • Read the post-wise eligibility table in the detailed advertisement before choosing a post.
  • Apply by 27 November 2026 (5:00 PM) — the window is short.
  • Use the correction window (28–30 November) for any genuine mistake.
  • CG local residents: keep your domicile certificate ready — the fee refund and reservation both depend on it.
  • Note your exam centre division; the exam is held only at the five divisional headquarters.

Avoid this

  • Do not assume every post needs the same qualification — eligibility is post-wise.
  • Do not skip appearing in the exam if you want the fee refund — it is paid only to those who actually appear.
  • Do not apply on any site other than the official CGSSB portal.
  • Do not wait for the correction window to fix a wrong post choice if the notice treats it as final — read the correction rules first.
  • Do not upload a blurred photo or signature.

Taiyaari checklist — keep these ready

  • Degree / PG marksheets and certificates scanned (as your post requires)
  • Chhattisgarh domicile certificate scanned, if applicable
  • Caste certificate scanned, if applicable
  • 10th certificate (age proof) scanned
  • Photo and signature scans ready

Common mistakes that get forms rejected

  • Choosing a post without reading its own qualification row in the eligibility table.
  • Missing the 5:00 PM close on 27 November — the window ends earlier in the day than most portals.
  • Forgetting that the fee refund applies only to CG local residents who actually sit the exam.
  • Letting the 28–30 November correction window pass with a wrong detail still in the form.

  3. Upload photo, signature and documents, and pay the fee online by category.
