Eligibility & fees

  • Trades: Fitter 278, Welder 104, Machinist 101, Electrician 90, Turner 52, Electronics Mechanic 23, Foundryman 12 — spread across 9 manufacturing units. Apply for ONE unit and ONE trade only.
  • Education: Class 10 plus ITI / National Trade Certificate (NTC) and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the same trade, with at least 60% marks in both NTC and NAC (55% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Maximum age as on 1 October 2026: 27 years for General/EWS, 30 years for OBC (NCL), 32 years for SC/ST.
  • Selection: Computer Based Exam (tentatively on 11 December 2026), then a qualifying Skill Test, then document verification.
  • Pay: ₹24,000 per month consolidated during the first, temporary year; on regularisation the pay scale is ₹29,500–65,000.
  • UR, EWS and OBC: ₹1,072 in total (₹600 examination fee + ₹400 processing fee + GST).
  • SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen: ₹472 (processing fee + GST only; the examination fee is exempt).
  • Pay online by 18 November 2026; the fee is not refunded.

Photo & signature — what the form asks

  • The advertisement does not print a fixed KB size for the photo and signature — upload them in the format and size the portal asks for on the upload screen.
  • Keep a recent colour photograph and a clear signature scan (signed on white paper) ready before you start.
  • Upload only clear, readable scans; a blurred photo or signature can get the form rejected.

Photo & signature — do’s and don’ts

Do this

  • Choose the unit and trade once, carefully — only one unit and one trade can be applied for.
  • Check you hold BOTH the NTC and the NAC in the same trade before applying.
  • Keep marks of NTC and NAC ready — the 60%/55% cut-off is checked.
  • Pay the correct fee (₹1,072 or ₹472) online before 18 November 2026, 11:45 PM.
  • Download the acknowledgement after payment; a form without fee payment is incomplete.

Avoid this

  • Do not apply for two trades or two units — such applications are rejected.
  • Do not apply with only ITI and no NAC; both certificates are compulsory.
  • Do not believe social-media fee figures (some wrongly say ₹708) — the advt fee is ₹1,072 / ₹472.
  • Do not miss the 11:45 PM close on 18 November.
  • Do not enter marks differently from the certificates.

Taiyaari checklist — keep these ready

  • NAC certificate scanned

  • Fee payment method ready (₹1,072 or ₹472)

Documents you will need

  • 10th marksheet and certificate
  • National Trade Certificate (NTC) with marksheets
  • National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC)
  • Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS), if applicable

Common mistakes that get forms rejected

  • Applying without the NAC — ITI/NTC alone does not make you eligible.
  • Selecting the wrong unit or trade, which cannot be changed later.
  • Paying the wrong fee figure seen on social media instead of the advt's ₹1,072 / ₹472.
  • Falling below the 60% (General/OBC) marks condition in NTC or NAC.

How to apply — step by step

  1. Open careers.bhel.in and read the detailed advertisement of Advt 01/2026 (Artisan Recruitment 2027).
  2. Register and choose your one unit and one trade.
  3. Fill the form with exact 10th, NTC and NAC details.
  4. Upload photo, signature and certificates.
  5. Pay the fee online and submit before 18 November 2026, 11:45 PM.
  6. Save the application and prepare for the Computer Based Exam, tentatively on 11 December 2026.
