Photo & signature — what the form asks
- Photo: recent passport-size colour photograph, white background, not more than 3 months old — 100 KB to 200 KB, .jpg/.jpeg, 200 DPI, 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm. No cap, hat or dark glasses (religious headwear is allowed if the face is not covered).
- Signature: sign on white paper with black ink and scan only the signature area — 80 KB to 150 KB, .jpg/.jpeg.
Photo & signature — do’s and don’ts
Do this
- Take a fresh photo — it must not be more than 3 months old, on a plain white background
- Keep the photo inside 100-200 KB and the signature inside 80-150 KB — compress them here to mid-band targets
- Check the degree class rule before applying — First Class for UR/OBC (NCL)/EWS, Pass Class for SC/ST/PwBD
- Keep the OBC (NCL) certificate dated on/after 1 October 2025, or the EWS certificate (FY 2025-26) dated on/after 1 April 2026, ready
Avoid this
- Do not upload an old photograph — one older than 3 months breaks the notice's rule
- Do not wear a cap, hat or dark glasses in the photo
- Do not submit and then expect an edit — a submitted application is final and cannot be withdrawn
- Colour-blind candidates should note the notice says they are not suitable for this post
Taiyaari checklist — keep these ready
- BEL Careers login ready (apply between 28 October 2:00 PM and 18 November 2026, 11:59 PM)

- Signature ready: black ink on white paper, 80-150 KB

Common mistakes that get forms rejected
- A photograph more than 3 months old — the notice caps its age explicitly
- Photo or signature outside their KB bands (100-200 KB and 80-150 KB)
- Submitting with the wrong category — after submission nothing, including category, can change
- Assuming a GATE score is needed — it is not; selection is by BEL's own CBT and interview
