Drop the PDF and get it back under 1 MB — the target is preset. Strong compression redraws pages to fit; light compression keeps the text selectable. Nothing is uploaded: the work happens inside your browser, on your own device.
How to use it
- Drop the PDF Scanned documents, photo PDFs and ordinary text PDFs all work.
- Choose the size and method Type the limit in KB. Use Strong for scans and picture-heavy files; Light when the text must stay selectable.
- Compress and download The result shows the new size. If a target is unreachable without making pages unreadable, you get the smallest readable version and a note saying so.
Questions
- How do I compress a PDF to 1 MB?
- Drop it above with 1 MB already set, keep Strong compression for scans and picture PDFs, press the button and download.
- Will the text still be readable?
- Yes. Pages are redrawn at the resolution needed to hit 1 MB; if that would make them unreadable you get the smallest readable version and a note instead.
- Can I keep the text selectable?
- Choose Light compression. It keeps the text but cannot shrink pictures much, so a scan may not reach 1 MB that way.
- Is the PDF uploaded?
- No.
